Project Overview

MESC was contracted by Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG) to execute comprehensive pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for the Thompson & Grace mainline and customer station (CS) spools.
The project included all technical procedures required to validate system readiness, ensure operational safety, and prepare the facility for full gas transmission.

Scope Of work

Executed pre-commissioning activities on the mainline and compressor station inlet and outlet spools, ensuring all components met required technical standards.

Performed system checks, internal cleaning, and line inspection to verify structural integrity before pressurization.

Conducted flushing and drying operations to remove debris, moisture, and contaminants from all spools and associated pipework.

Executed functional tests on pipeline sections, validating flow path continuity and operational response.

Supported SNG’s commissioning team in bringing the system online, completing final documentation, and preparing the facility for operational service.

Project Outcomes

MESC successfully delivered a fully validated and operationally ready system for SNG.

The Thompson & Grace mainline and compressor station spools were certified fit-for-service, achieving full compliance with SNG’s technical, safety, and quality requirements. All operations were completed within schedule, with zero safety incidents.
